Chocolate is a product that is deeply rooted in Basque culture. High quality chocolates are made in the Basque Country, following traditional recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation.

In particular, Oñati is known as the “City of Chocolate”, home to the oldest chocolate factory in Spain. However, there are many other places you should visit to learn about the history of chocolate in the Basque Country: Irun, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Mendaro, Tolosa, etc.
