Visit some of the most spectacular churches of the Alava Middle Ages.

The route begins with a visit to the paintings in the church of San Martín de Tours in Gazeo, a work without parallel in the entire Basque Country due to the expressiveness of its polychrome dating back to the 14th century.

Then it is time to take a look at one of the most enigmatic and surprising works of the Llanada: the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de Alaitza. Inside, this temple preserves mysterious war paintings made of ochre silhouettes, the meaning of which is still a topical issue.

During your weekend visit, specifically on Saturdays, you will have the chance to explore the churches of Añua and Arbulo. On Sundays, in turn, a guided tour of Salvatierra/Agurain is organised, where you can discover its Romanesque chapel and other churches of great historical value.
