Orio is a small, charming fishing town located on the Basque coast that is famous for its rowing competitions, medieval centre, fish and seafood dishes like grilled red sea bream and eel, and the stretch of The Way of St. James that runs to Donostia/San Sebastian. Don’t miss the San Martín hermitage, an old temple likely of medieval origin located right by the Camino.

The Pagoeta Natural Park is a protected site of great ecological value located near Orio. Here, you can find numerous hiking trails, as well as a wide variety of flora and fauna.
