Famous for its geological formations and cultural richness, Deba is part of the impressive Basque Coast Geopark, an area of extraordinary natural beauty that includes the unique rock formations of Flysch.

Together with prehistoric caves and unspoiled valleys, this geological patrimony makes Deba a fascinating place for beach lovers as well as history and geology enthusiasts.

Thanks to the limestone mountains that form the municipality’s extensive terrain, numerous hills, large underground grottos, and caves have been formed, with prehistoric man using them for shelter and leaving behind more than fifty prehistoric sites and caves.
