Guided tour of Arrikrutz, The Caves of Oñati

The Arrikrutz caves are a complex karst system known for its geological and palaeontological wealth.

Discovered in the 19th century, they are remarkable for their stalactite and stalagmite formations, as well as for the remains of prehistoric animals found, including an almost complete skeleton of a cave lion. These caves are a fascinating testimony to the natural history of the region.

This guided tour of the caves, lasting approximately one hour, will take you on a fascinating journey underground, where you can admire karst formations and stalactites.

You will discover an enormous and complex cavity with 15 kilometres of underground galleries that make up the most extensive system in Gipuzkoa.
