Santa Catalina Lighthouse, Lekeitio

With spectacular views of the Cantabrian Sea, the Santa Catalina Lighthouse is another essential visit to immerse yourself in the seafaring spirit of Lekeitio. Opened in 1862, it still lights the way for ships returning to port.

It is the first lighthouse in the Basque Country that can be visited, a place that explains in a simple way the techniques, the navigation tools and living conditions of the arrantzales, the whalers and the people who have sailed the seas since ancient times.

It offers guided tours on the history of sailing and incredible views of the Cantabrian Sea.
