Description
Jazzaldia is the oldest jazz festival in Spain and one of the oldest in Europe. Founded in 1966, it takes place every year around the third week of July in San Sebastián (Donostia / San Sebastián) and, across its five days, fills the city with around a hundred concerts spread over more than a dozen stages.
The programme combines ticketed concerts in theatres, museums and auditoriums with free outdoor performances on beaches, squares and parks. Among the most attended venues are Zurriola beach and the Kursaal terraces, where the free concerts draw thousands of listeners. The 2023 edition recorded an estimated total attendance of 191,000 people.
Jazzaldia is an internationally recognised festival that has welcomed the great names of jazz history throughout its decades and has also served as a platform for emerging and local artists. A gathering that attracts both locals and visitors from across the world to San Sebastián for the music and the city.
