Arditurri Mines Essential Visit
- With lots of tasteZarautz — Donostia/San Sebastián
Description
The Arditurri Mining Site is located in Oiartzun, within the Aiako Harria Natural Park, in the northeast of Gipuzkoa. The mines have been worked for over 2,000 years, and their gallery can now be explored via an accessible 180-metre walkway as part of a visit lasting approximately one hour. The visit combines the Interpretation Centre with the mine gallery, where lighting and sound recreate different moments in the history of the mines: from the noise of falling rock to the silence of the underground lakes and their shifting reflections. The experience is designed to engage the senses and transport visitors across different eras of mining activity. The visit is accessible for people with reduced mobility. Children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. An audio guide is available on prior request. The Mining Site is the end point of the Arditurri Greenway, which links Oiartzun with the bay of Pasaia.
