Rioja Alavesa

Rioja Alavesa is a wine-growing district in southern Álava covering 316 km². Its landscape is shaped by vineyards under the Rioja Denominación de Origen, which have defined the territory's visual and productive identity for centuries. The wine tourism offer combines long-established family wineries with striking contemporary architecture, giving the comarca a distinctive profile within the world of wine. Basque cuisine, with its local products and traditional preparations, is an inseparable part of the experience. The territory also holds a heritage of considerable historical depth: medieval villages scattered among the vines, dolmens and rock-cut wine presses that bear witness to a millennia-old relationship between this land and viticulture.
