Description

Andoain is a municipality in the historic territory of Gipuzkoa, situated on the banks of the Oria river and surrounded by hills that frame the village landscape. Its position at the entrance to the Leitzaran valley makes it a gateway to one of the area's most notable natural environments, where the old Plazaola railway line — once linking Navarre and Gipuzkoa — now forms the route of the Plazaola-Leitzaran Greenway.

The town centre preserves points of interest including the main square, the town hall building, the church of San Martín de Tours and a statue of Aita Manuel Larramendi, a notable local figure. The Bastero cultural centre is the main hub of cultural life in the municipality, hosting music, theatre and cinema.

Andoain brings together a natural setting with direct access to walking and cycling routes, and a town centre with its own identity within Gipuzkoa.
