Visit to the Gorbeia Natural Park Parketxe in Areatza

Located in the main square of Areatza, in the Valle de Arratia area of Bizkaia, the Parketxe is the interpretation centre for Gorbeia Natural Park, the largest protected natural area in the Basque Country. The centre houses a permanent exhibition covering the different aspects of the park, complemented by several audiovisual resources. Its most distinctive feature is a virtual ascent to Gorbeia's iconic summit cross, offering visitors an immersive introduction to the landscape without tackling the climb itself. Educational programmes with guided itineraries are also available for school groups. Whether as a starting point before heading into the park or as part of a wider route through Bizkaia, the Parketxe provides useful context for understanding the natural environment. It shares this interpretive role with the Parketxe de Sarria on the Álava side of the same park
