Marvel at the Iberian Peninsula's Highest Waterfall from the Nervión Viewpoint

The Nervión Waterfall is a cascade of over 220 metres located within the Monte Santiago Natural Monument, between the provinces of Burgos, Álava and Bizkaia. Because the water runs through karst terrain, the waterfall does not always flow, so it is recommended to check weather forecasts before visiting. To reach the viewpoint, the road climbs through the Orduña mountain pass to the top of Monte Santiago, where three designated car parks are available. The closest to the viewpoint is Parking Fuente Santiago (Car Park nº 3), next to the Casa del Parque. From there, a flat path of around 2 km — roughly 20 to 30 minutes on foot — leads directly to the viewpoint, where the waterfall drops right beside you. Visitors who want to extend the experience can combine this with two other routes: from the Álava village of Untzaga or from Delika, which offer views of the waterfall face-on or from below respectively.
