Description
The guided tour of the historic centre of Orduña (Urduña/Orduña) is the most direct way to explore one of the most historically significant towns in Bizkaia. The route gives access to a remarkable artistic and monumental heritage, including the late Gothic altarpiece of San Pedro and the wall walk of the fortified church of Santa María — a building that combines religious and defensive architecture in an exceptional way. For centuries, Orduña served as a key crossing point between the Castilian plateau and the Cantabrian coast, a role that left a lasting mark on its urban layout, noble lineages, palaces and arcaded square. The guided tour is organised by the tourist office and takes place every Saturday from the second half of February through to December, with no minimum number of participants required. Groups can also arrange a visit on demand with prior booking.
