Visit the Vasco-Navarro Railway Greenway Interpretation Centre
- A journey into the pastVitoria-Gasteiz — Laguardia
Description
The Vasco-Navarro Railway Greenway Interpretation Centre is located in Antoñana, a village within the municipality of Campezo, in the Alavese Mountains. It occupies three original railway wagons on the site of the former station, clearly visible from the road linking Vitoria and Estella-Lizarra. The centre covers two complementary areas. The first traces the history of the Vasco-Navarro railway, a 123.5 km line connecting Gipuzkoa with Estella-Lizarra that made its last journey in 1967; preserved objects, photographs and documentation bring this history to life. The second introduces the Alavese Mountains region, providing information on hiking, cycling, climbing, accommodation and restaurants in the area. For those travelling the Greenway or exploring the Alavese Mountains, this stop offers the historical and geographical context to understand the territory ahead and plan the next stages of the journey.
